Help & Support

We are committed to providing our foster carers with the support, advice and encouragement they need to complete their job. We work hard to ensure that we provide a range of support services to our foster carers to enable them to provide a high quality of care to the children in placement with them.

Our monthly Foster Carers Forum is held at our office and attended by carers along with staff. Lunch is provided.

At forum meetings you can expect to:

  • Feel supported by other carers who have faced similar challenges and experiences
  • Share experiences with other carers
  • Find out how to deal with situations in a different way
  • Learn about any changes in legislation that will affect you
  • Be notified about changes with our Policies and Procedures which can impact upon your practices
  • Have discussions about upcoming events and activities

All our carers have access to comprehensive training and learning opportunities to ensure they are able to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to provide the best possible care and positive outcomes for the children and young people placed with us.

We also think that it’s important to have ‘fun’ fostering and have the chance to meet with other carers and their children. We have fun days usually in the summer and at Christmas, have a look at our picture gallery to see what we get up to. All our activities are age appropriate so that all of our children and young people have to chance to get involved.
